Removing the SmartCard reader

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. WLAN card

    4. WWAN card

    5. SSD card or hard drive
    6. chassis frame

  3. To release the SmartCard reader:
    1. Disconnect the SmartCard reader board cable from the connector [1].
    2. Peel off the cable to release from the adhesive [2]. Disconnecting SmartCard cable
  4. To remove the SmartCard reader:
    1. Remove the M2.0x3.0 screws that secure the SmartCard reader board to the palmrest [1].
    2. Push the SmartCard reader board to release it [2].
