
Virtual Edge Platform 1405 Series Operating System Installation Guide
Introduction
This document provides the operating system installation steps for the Dell Virtual Edge Platform (VEP) 1405 series of systems. The steps that are provided have been tested and verified on VEP1405 devices using the following information:

The recommended device configuration for the VEP1405 series before installing the operating system is as follows:

NOTE: When upgrading to the UFW version 2.2, Dell Technologies strongly recommends that you upgrade all the three firmwares - BIOS, CPLD, and PIC. Upgrading only one or two of these firmwares may result in the system becoming unstable:
- BIOS - 3.48.0.9-19
- CPLD - v17
- PIC - v40P
NOTE: 960 GB Swissbit SSD firmware in VEP1445
SKU 210-AWIP, upgrades from
SBR10013 to
SBR10015. SSD contents are not impacted as a result of the upgrade.
