Removing the system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. memory module

    4. hard drive assembly or M.2 SSD or PCIe SSD
    5. WLAN card

    6. WWAN card

    7. keyboard

    8. dock frame

    9. power connector port

  3. Disconnect the speaker cables [1], touch pad and system board cables [2, 3] from the system board. Figure displaying how to disconnect all the cables from the system board.
  4. To remove the system board:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis [1].
    2. Slide the system board to disengage the connectors from the slots on the back of the computer.
    3. Lift the system board from the computer [2].
