About Dell License Manager

Dell License Manager is a one-to-many license deployment and reporting tool for integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) and Chassis Management Controller (CMC) licenses.

License Manager allows you to perform several actions such as downloading, binding, deploying, and backing up the following licenses:

• Dell OpenManage Integration with ServiceNow (OMISNOW) licenses
• iDRAC Secure Enterprise Key Manager (SEKM) licenses
• iDRAC licenses on all the PowerEdge servers that have either iDRAC9, iDRAC8, or iDRAC7 preinstalled from the factory
• CMC licenses on PowerEdge VRTX and PowerEdge FX or FX2s chassis
• OpenManage Enterprise Advanced licenses
• OpenManage Enterprise Advanced+ licenses for 13G PowerEdge servers
• OpenManage Enterprise Advanced+ licenses for 14G and later PowerEdge servers
• PowerEdge storage sled licenses

You can inventory licensable systems to report the licensing status and features of the enabled management controller.

Use the iDRAC licenses to enable server management capabilities such as the virtual media and remote console support available in the Enterprise iDRAC feature set.

Use CMC licenses to enable chassis management capabilities such as console integration, remote access, mutlichassis management, and server cloning.

You can download licenses from the Dell Online Licensing Portal at https://www.dell.com/software-and-subscriptions. You can purchase licenses when you purchase a server or a chassis.
