Removing the system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover
    2. front bezel
    3. memory module
    4. hard drive
    5. expansion card(s)
    6. heat sink
  3. Disconnect all the cables connected to the system board.

  4. To remove the system board:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the computer [1].
    2. Slide the system board and lift it away from the computer [2].
