Information update—SATA drive speed on the 12 thgeneration of PowerEdge servers

This document provides information about the 12th generation of PowerEdge systems that support SATA drives.

The following tables list the 12th generation of PowerEdge systems with the backplane configurations that support SATA drives at 6 Gbps speed.

To use SATA drives at 6 Gbps speed, change the limit of negotiated speed to 6 Gbps using PowerEdge RAID Controller 8 (PERC8). For more information about the settings, see the Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller (PERC) 8 User's Guide at Dell.com/storagecontrollermanuals.
