
Dell PowerFlex 5.1.x/4.5.x and PowerFlex Manager 5.1.x Software Upgrade Guide
Introduction
The Dell PowerFlex 5.1.x/4.5.x and PowerFlex Manager 5.1.x Software Upgrade Guide provides instructions to upgrade existing 4.5.x or 5.0.x PowerFlex deployments to PowerFlex 5.1.x.
Erasure coding is supported with PowerFlex core software 5.0.x and above. Mirroring is supported with PowerFlex core software 4.5.x.
Use this guide only for PowerFlex software updates. PowerFlex rack and PowerFlex appliance customers should not use this document for upgrades. This release adds support for CloudLink 8.3.
CloudLink 8.3 and later versions are supported only on PowerFlex platforms.

The Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) server and machine encryption functionalities are available.CloudLink 8.3
KMIP server and machine encryption functionalities remain operational but are deprecated.They are no longer covered under standard support and are planned to be disabled in a future release.Dell Technologies strongly recommends planning a transition to supported alternative solutions to ensure continued functionality and support.
