All products: Contaminants such as dust on fiber optic connector end face causes poor IO performance
Dust or chemical contamination at the endface of a fiber optic LC connector or transceiver module impedes signaling. Dell engineering teams have verified cases in which a fully functional port appears to be a bad port because dirty optical connectors manifest as a port failing loop testing with acceptable power measurement levels. Cable connectors should be cleaned and when stored must be protected from dust particle or chemical contamination.

The issue is about new routes are not being installed in the Broadcom hardware on Dell S5248F switches. OS10 can learn new routes, but it is not able to install them in the Broadcom hardware tables. This issue affects all platforms and all OS10 versions, but may be mitigated using switch's configuration or different platforms where the tables are larger than S5200.

This guide provides instructions on how to configure management networks for accessing networked devices using console servers, Ethernet out-of-band, and Ethernet in-band. Large production networks can span across multiple rooms, buildings, or cities, and contain dozens or hundreds of network switches.
