Avamar (Dell Avamar) Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) backup fails when the exclude list for an incremental backup differs from the base backup. If "Prefer incremental but do a Full if required" is set, a full backup runs. Setting "Force an incremental (level 1)" causes the job to fail. Resolve by running a full (level 0) backup for the volume, then run the incremental (level 1) backup.

Customers have multiple Windows servers where case sensitivity is enabled. Avamar Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) and File System (FS) plug-in backups may fail with avtar reporting a duplicate entry in the filename cache. This happens when customers enable case sensitivity on Windows servers.
