Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Turn the system badge flap over and then remove the screws.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the bottom corners up each side of the system towards the rear.
Grasp the left side and the right side of the base cover and rotate it upwards to release the base cover.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module.
Lift the bracket off the wireless module.
Disconnect the antenna cables (black and white cables) from the wireless module.
Slide and remove the wireless module out of the slot.
Display Assembly
Position the system on the edge of the table with the fans close to the edge and the battery away from it.
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove screw that secures the display cable bracket to the system board.
Disconnect display cable from the system board.
Disconnect the touch screen cable from the system board (optional step - based on configuration)
Open the display at an angle of 90 degrees and place along the edge of the table with the display facing down
Confirm that the display is open to 90 degrees to allow access to the hinges
With one hand supporting the display, remove the screws that secure the display hinges to the system
Carefully lift the display assembly from the system
Antenna cover
Identify the antenna cover highlighted in blue.
Rotate the hinges downward to an angle of approximately 45°.
Slide the antenna cover to the right and lift up from the display assembly.
Antenna module
Identify the antenna module highlighted in blue.
Peel the tape that covers the antenna cables.
Remove the screws that secure the antenna module to the display assembly.
Lift the antenna module away from the display assembly.
Install
Antenna module
Identify the antenna module location highlighted in blue.
Align the screw holes on the antenna module with the screw holes on the display assembly.
Install the screws that secure the antenna module to the display assembly.
Adhere the tape that covers the antenna cable.
Antenna cover
Identify the antenna cover location highlighted in blue
Align the antenna cover to the tabs on the display assembly and slide left to install it
Turn the display hinges to the normal position
Display Assembly
Position the system at the edge of the table to install the display assembly.
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Lower the display assembly and align the screw holes on the system with the screw holes on the display hinges.
With one hand supporting the display, install the screws that secure the display hinges to the system.
Route the display cable to the routing guides on the left fan and adhere tape that secures display cable to the left fan.
Connect the display cable to the system board.
Install screw that secures the display cable bracket to the system board.
Close the display.
Confirm that the display is closed after attaching the display assembly.
Turn the system around to postion it so the battery is closest to the edge and the fans are away from it.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch on the wireless module with the tab on the slot and slide the wireless module into the slot.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Align the screw hole on the bracket with the screw hole on the wireless module.
Tighten the captive screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Route the battery cable through the routing clip and connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs in the rear and to the slots on the edges, press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Using a Torx #5, install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Turn the system badge flap over and then install the screws.
