Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the computer.
Pry open the base cover from the smart card reader slot at the bottom right side of the base cover.
Lift the base cover starting from the bottom edge and push it towards the rear to remove it from the computer.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Using the pull tab, lift up to disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
SSD 2230 Primary
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD thermal plate to the SSD module.
Carefully tilt at an angle and then slide to remove the SSD thermal plate from the slots on the inner frame.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD module.
Remove the SSD module from the computer.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to SSD holder.
Remove the SSD from the holder.
Install
SSD 2230 Primary
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Install the SSD into the SSD holder.
Install the screw to secure the SSD to the holder.
Install the SSD module onto its slot on the computer.
Install the screw to secure the SSD module to the computer.
Carefully align and insert the two tabs on the SSD thermal plate into the slots on the inner frame to secure the SSD thermal plate in place.
Install the screw to secure the SSD thermal plate to the SSD.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the base cover into its slot until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the base cover to the computer.
