Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the thumbscrews that secure the side cover to the system.
Slide and lift the side cover away from the system.
Slim Optical drive
Identify the slim optical drive highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the data and power cables from the slim optical drive.
Push the securing tab to release the slim optical drive from the system.
Slide and remove the slim optical drive from the slot on the system.
Install
Slim Optical drive
Identify the slim optical drive location highlighted in blue.
Slide the slim optical drive into the disk drive cage until it snaps into place.
Connect the data and power cables to the connectors on the hard drive.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the side cover with the slots and place the side cover on the system.
Tighten the thumbscrews that secure the side cover to the system.
