How to replace the I/O module on a Optiplex Micro Plus 7020

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the I/O module and a OptiPlex Micro Plus 7020. The procedure will also include removing the Side Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Side Cover

Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.

Loosen the thumb screw that secures the side cover to the chassis.

Slide and lift the side cover off the chassis.

I/O module

Identify the I/O module highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the I/O module to the system.

Slide the I/O module from the system, do not remove it completely.

Lift and hold the I/O module and disconnect the cable from the connector on the system board.

Remove the I/O module from the computer.

Install

I/O module

Identify the I/O module position highlighted in blue.

Place and align the I/O module near the system.

Connect the I/O cable to the connector on the system board and align the I/O module on the system.

Insert the I/O module into its slot from the inside of your computer.

Install the screws that seure the I/O module to the system.

Side Cover

Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.

Slide the side cover into place towards the front of the computer.

Tighten the thumb screw that secure the side cover to the chassis.
