How to replace the Right Control Panel on a PowerEdge XE7745

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Right Control Panel and a PowerEdge XE7745.

Removal

System Cover

1. Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
2. Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock counterclockwise to the unlock position.
3. Lift the latch until the system cover slides back.
4. Hold the cover on both sides and lift it away from the system.

Air Shroud

1. Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue.
2. Hold the air shroud on both sides, then lift it out of the system.

Auxiliary Air Shroud (Right)

1. Identify the auxiliary air shroud highlighted in blue.
2. Hold the auxiliary air shroud from the end facing the heatsink, then rotate and lift it out of the system.

Right Control Panel

1. Identify the right control panel highlighted in blue.
2. Disconnect the right control panel cable from the system board.
3. Open the cable holder securing the control panel cable.
4. Unroute the right control panel cable from the system.
5. Remove the screws that secure the right control panel to the system.
6. Holding the cable, slide and remove the right control panel from the system.

Install

Right Control Panel

1. Identify the right control panel location highlighted in blue.
2. Route the right control panel cable through the openings on front of the system.
3. Align and slide the right control panel into the slot on the system.
4. Install the screws that secure the right control panel to the system.
5. Route the right control panel cable through the side wall of the system.
6. Close the cable holder securing the control panel cable.
7. Connect the right control panel cable to the system board.

Auxiliary Air Shroud (Right)

1. Identify the auxiliary air shroud location highlighted in blue.
2. Align and tilt the auxiliary air shroud, lower it into the system and press the top surface until it is firmly seated.

Air Shroud

1. Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue.
2. Align the air shroud with the standoff and lower it into the system until firmly seated.

System Cover

1. Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
2. Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system.
3. Close the system cover by pressing down on the release latch.
4. Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise to the locked position.
