Removal
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel highlighted in blue
Unlock the front bezel by using the key.
Press the release button and disengage the left end of the bezel.
Unhook the right end, and remove the front bezel.
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a flat head or a Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch until the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
Memory modules
Riser 1A
Identify the riser 1A highlighted in blue
Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the blue thumb screw on the riser.
Disconnect any cables that are connected to the expansion card or the riser.
Pull the plunger and slide to the unlock position (slide to the rear of the chassis).
Lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Riser 4A
Identify the riser 4A highlighted in blue
Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the blue thumb screw on the riser.
Disconnect any cables that are connected to the expansion card or the riser.
Pull the plunger and slide to the unlock position (slide to the rear of the chassis)
Lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Versabay board (VSB)
Identify the versabay board (VSB) highlighted in blue.
Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws to disengage the VSB cable from the VSB board.
Disconnect the signal cable from the VSB.
Lift the plunger and slide the VSB tray to rear of the system.
Disengage the VSB tray from the system board and lift it out of the system.
Remove the screws that secure the VSB board to VSB tray.
Lift the VSB from the VSB tray.
Storage tray
Identify the storage tray highlighted in blue
Disconnect the cables from the system board connectors.
Disconnect the intrusion switch and fan board cables from the connector.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws on the drive cage.
Lift the handle and slide the storage tray towards the front of the system.
Lift the storage tray out of the system.
Processor and Direct Liquid Cooling module
Identify the heatsink highlighted in blue
Using the two fingers, lift the turtle shell from the DLC module.
Remove the liquid cooling hoses with numbers naming 11 an 12.
Release the blue thumb holder and rotate the metallic gate away from the liquid cooling tray.
Disconnect the cooling module, right control panel and intrusion cable from the connectors on the system board assembly.
Unroute the right control panel and intrusion cables from the cooling module.
Loosen the first and second screws three turns.
Loosen the third and fourth screws completely.
Loosen the captive screws 1 and 2 completely.
Loosen the captive screws 3 and 4 completely.
Set the anti-tilt wires on the DLC module to the unlock position and lift the DLC module from the system.
Place the heat sink on a flat surface with the processor side facing up
OCP card
Identify the OCP card highlighted in blue
Open the blue latch to disengage the OCP card.
Push the OCP card towards the rear end of the system to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
Slide the OCP card out of the slot on the system.
LOM card
Identify the LOM card highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the LAN on Motherboard (LOM) card to the system board.
Holding the edges, pull the LOM card to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
Rear I/O board
Identify the rear I/O board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the rear I/O board to the system board.
Holding the edges, pull the rear I/O board to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Using the system board holder and plunger, slide the system board towards the front of the system.
At a tilted angle, lift the system board out of the chassis.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue
Holding the system board holder and plunger, lower the system board into the system.
Slide the system board towards the rear of the chassis until the connectors are firmly seated in the slots.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Rear I/O board
Identify the rear I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Align the connectors and slots on the rear I/O board with the connector and standoffs on the system board.
Press the rear I/O board until firmly seated on the system board connector.
Secure the rear I/O board to the system board with screws.
LOM card
Identify the LOM card location highlighted in blue.
Align the connectors and slots on the LOM card with the connector and standoffs on the system board.
Press the LOM card until firmly seated on the system board connector.
Secure the LOM card to the system board with screws.
OCP card
Identify the OCP card location highlighted in blue
Open the blue latch to install the OCP card.
Slide the OCP card into the slot in the system.
Close the latch to lock the OCP card to the system.
Processor and Direct Liquid Cooling module
Identify the heatsink assembly Location highlighted in blue
Align the DLC module with the standoff screws on the system board.
Place the module on the processor slot and set all the anti-tilt wires to locked position (outward position).
Partially tighten the first and second screws (approximately 3 turns).
Partially tighten the third and fourth screws (approximately 3 turns).
Tighten the captive screws 1 and 2 completely.
Tighten the captive screws 3 and 4 completely.
Route the right control panel and intrusion cables to the cooling module.
Connect the cooling module, right control panel and intrusion cable to the connectors on the system board assembly.
Reconnect the liquid cooling hoses 11 an 12 to Manifold from DLC module.
Rotate the metallic gate near to the liquid cooling tray and lock the blue thumb holder.
Using the two finger, align and install the turtle shell on the DLC module.
Storage tray
Identify the storage tray location highlighted in blue
Align and insert the storage tray on the guiding slots of the chassis.
Press down the handle and slide the tray into the chassis toward the rear of the system until it is firmly seated.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, install the screws to secure on the drive cage.
Connect the cables in to the system board connectors.
Connect the intrusion switch and fan board cables to the connector.
Versabay board (VSB)
Identify the versabay board (VSB) location highlighted in blue.
Align and install the versabay board on the VSB tray.
Using the Phillips screwdriver, install the screws to secure the VSB on to the VSB tray.
Lift the plunger, align the VSB tray to the system board and slide it toward the front of the system.
Connect the signal cable to the VSB.
Using the Phillips screwdriver, install the screws to secure the VSB cable to the VSB board.
Riser 4A
Identify the riser 4A location highlighted in blue
Holding the blue touch points, align the holes on the expansion card riser with the guides on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser into place and press the touch points until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated on the system board connector.
Pull the plunger and slide to the lock position (slide to the front of the chassis).
Using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the blue thumb screw to secure the riser on the chassis.
Connect the cables to the expansion card or the riser.
Riser 1A
Identify the riser 1A location highlighted in blue
Holding the blue touch points, align the holes on the expansion card riser with the guides on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser into place and press the touch points until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated on the system board connector.
Pull the plunger and slide to the lock position (slide to the front of the chassis).
Using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the blue thumb screw to secure the riser on the chassis.
Connect the cables to the expansion card or the riser.
Memory modules
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system and slide the system cover.
Close the system cover release latch.
Using a flat head or Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise to the lock position.
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel location highlighted in blue
Align and insert the tabs on the bezel into the slots on the system.
Press the bezel until the release button clicks in place.
Lock the front bezel by using the key.
