Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the basecover from bottom left and continue on the sides to loosen.
Slide and lift the base cover off the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Rear I/O Cover
Identify the rear I/O cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the rear I/O cover to the system.
Remove the screws that secure the rear I/O cover to the rear of the computer.
Starting from the corner, pry the rear I/O cover out and away from the palm rest assembly.
Fan & Heatsink Assembly
Type-C Bracket
Identify the type-C bracket highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the type-C bracket to the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the type-C bracket to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the type-C bracket from the palm rest assembly.
Display Hinge Covers
Position the system as shown.
Identify the display hinge covers highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left and right display hinge covers.
Gently pry out both display hinge covers from the display hinges.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the camera cable from the system board.
Lift the metal latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Peel the tapes that secure the camera cable to the system board.
Peel the tapes that secure the WLAN cable to the system board.
Unroute the camera, display and WLAN cables from the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left and right display hinges to the system.
Lift to open the display hinges.
Lift the palm rest assembly off the display assembly.
Install
Display Assembly
Position the system as shown.
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Slide the palm rest assembly under the display hinges.
Close the hinges and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left and right display hinges to the system.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable location highlighted in blue.
Route the camera, display and WLAN cables through the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Connect the display cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the camera cable to the system board.
Adhere the tapes that secure the camera cable to the system board.
Adhere the tapes that secure the WLAN cable to the system board.
Display Hinge Covers
Position the system as shown.
Identify the display hinge covers location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the left and right hinge covers on the display hinges.
Install the screws that secure the left and right display hinge covers.
Position the system as shown.
Type-C Bracket
Identify the type-C bracket location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the type-C bracket into the slot on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the type-C bracket to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the type-C bracket to the system board.
Fan & Heatsink Assembly
Rear I/O Cover
Identify the rear I/O cover location highlighted in blue.
Align and slide the rear I/O cover into the slot on to the rear of the computer.
Install the screws that secure the rear I/O cover to the system.
Install the screws that secure the rear I/O cover to the system.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide and align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
