This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the VR heat sink and a Precision 3660 Tower. The procedure will also include removing the Side Cover, Heat Sink Assembly and reinstalling them.
Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the side cover to the chassis.
Pull the release latch to release the cover from the chassis.
Lift the side cover from the chassis.
Heat Sink Assembly
VR heat sink
Identify the VR heat sink highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the VR heat sink to the system board.
Lift the VR heat sink off the system board.
Install
VR heat sink
Identify the VR heat sink location highlighted in blue.
Remove the liner behind the VR heatsink modules.
Adhere the VR heatsinks align the captive screws on the screw holes in system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the VR heat sink to the system board.
Heat Sink Assembly
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Locate the tabs on the side cover and slots on the chassis.
Tighten the captive screw to secure the side cover to the chassis.
