Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Slide the release latch to release the side cover from the computer.
Slide the side cover back and lift it off the chassis.
Processor and heat sink assembly - 65W
Identify the processor fan and 65 W heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the processor fan cable from the connector on the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board.Loosen in reverse order.
Lift the processor fan and heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video)
Install
Processor and heat sink assembly - 65W
Identify the processor fan and 65 W heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the processor fan and heat sink assembly on the system board and align with screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board.
Connect the processor fan cable to the connector on the system board.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the side cover with the slots on the chassis.
Slide the side cover forward until you hear the latch click.
