This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Wireless Module (WLAN) and a Inspiron 3583. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover, Battery Cable, WLAN and reinstalling them.
Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws on the base cover
Remove the screw (M2x4) that secures the base cover to the system.
Remove the screws (6 screws M2.5x7) that secure the base cover to the system.
Loosen the base cover by prying from the top left corner and working around.
Lift the base cover off the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board. Peel the tape if needed.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.

Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board. Adhere the tape.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs and slots on the edges. Press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Install the screws (6 screws M2.5x7) that secure the base cover.
Install the screw (M2x4) that secures the base cover.
