Removal
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a flat head or a Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch till the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
Air shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue
Holding the touch points, lift the cooling shroud away from the system.
Low profile right riser
Identify the low profile right riser highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screw that securing the riser to the system board.
Hold the touch points and lift the low profile right riser assembly from the system board.
Low profile left riser
Identify the low profile left riser highlighted in blue
Hold the touch points and lift the expansion card riser, from the riser connector, on the system board.
Mini PERC Card
Identify the Mini PERC Card highlighted in blue.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the screws that secure the cable to the mini PERC card.
Holding the tab, lift the cable to disconnect from the mini PERC card.
Slide out the mini PERC card to disengage from the card holder on the system board.
Lift the mini PERC card out of the system.
Internal Dual SD Module (IDSDM)
Identify the internal dual SD module (IDSDM) highlighted in blue
Pull up on the blue pull tab and lift the IDSDM out of the system
heatsink
Identify the heatsink highlighted in blue
Loosen the first and second screws three turns.
Loosen the Third and Fourth screws three turns.
Loosen the captive screws 1 and 2 completely.
Loosen the captive screws 3 and 4 completely.
Lift the heat sink from the system.
Place the heat sink on a flat surface with the processor side facing up
If you are using an existing heat sink, remove the thermal grease on the heat sink by using a clean lint-free cloth.
Processor
Identify the CPU highlighted in blue
Using a Torx #T20 screwdriver, loosen the screws to release the force plate.
Lift the force plate that secure the processor.
Release the processor socket rail frame by lifting up the blue latches.
Holding the blue tab on the processor tray, slide the tray out of the rail frame.
System memory
Select the system memory you want to replace
To release the memory module from the socket, simultaneously press the ejectors on both ends of the socket.
Lift and remove the memory module from the system.
LOM riser card
Identify the LOM riser card highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the LAN on Motherboard (LOM) riser card to the system board.
Push apart the two blue plastic clips securing the LOM riser card to release the riser.
Hold the LOM riser card by the edges on either side, and lift to remove it from the connector on the system board.
Slide the LOM riser card towards the front of the system until the Ethernet connectors or the SFP+ are clear of the slot in the back panel and Lift the LOM riser card out of the system.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Remove screws securing the system board to the chassis.
Hold the system board holder, slightly lift the system board, and then slide it toward the front of the chassis
Using the system board holder, lift the system board out of the chassis.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue
Holding the system board holder, align the connector on the system board with the slots on the back of the chassis and place the system board in place.
Incline the system board at an angle and align the connectors with the slots on the rear of the chassis.
Slide the system board towards the rear of the chassis until the connectors are firmly seated in the slots.
Install the screws to secure the system board to the chassis.
Connect the cables to the system board
Connect the cables to the system board
LOM riser card
Identify the LOM riser card location on the system board.
Orient the LOM riser card to fit the Ethernet connectors or the SFP+ through the slot of the bracket.
Press the LOM riser card until the card is firmly seated on the system board connector and the two blue plastic clips to secure the LOM riser card in place.
Replace the screws to secure the LOM riser card to the system board.
System memory
Confirm the system memory you want to replace.
Align the edge connector of memory module with the alignment key of the memory module socket, and insert into the socket.
Press the memory module until the socket levers firmly click into place.
Processor
Identify the CPU location highlighted in blue
Holding the blue tab on the processor tray, slide the tray into the processor socket rail frame until firmly seated.
Push the rail frame down until the blue latches lock into place.
Secure the force plate to the processor socket.
Tighten the screws in the sequential order.
heatsink
Identify the heatsink Location highlighted in blue
Use the thermal grease syringe included with your kit to apply the grease in a thin spiral on the top of the processor.
Align the heat sink with the screw holes on the processor plate. The captive screws on the heat sink should align with the screw holes on the processor plate.
Partially tighten the first and second screws (approximately 3 turns).
Partially tighten the third and fourth screws (approximately 3 turns).
Tighten the captive screws 1 and 2 completely.
Tighten the captive screws 3 and 4 completely.
Internal Dual SD Module (IDSDM)
Identify the internal dual SD module (IDSDM) location highlighted in blue
Align the IDSDM connector with the connector on the system board
Press the IDSDM into the connector
Mini PERC Card
Identify the Mini PERC Card location highlighted in blue.
Angle the mini PERC card to engage with the mini PERC card holder on the system board.
Lower the mini PERC card into place until the mini PERC card is firmly seated on the card holder.
Align the screws on the cable with the screw holes on the mini PERC card.
Secure the cable to the mini PERC card with the screws.
Low profile left riser
Identify the low profile left riser location highlighted in blue
Lower the low profile right riser assembly into place until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated in the connector.
Low profile right riser
Identify the low profile right riser location highlighted in blue
Lower the low profile right riser assembly into place until it is fully seated in the connector on the system board.
Tighten the captive screw to secure the riser to the system board.
Air shroud
Identify the cooling shroud location highlighted in blue
Align the slot on the air shroud with the standoff on the chassis.
Lower the air shroud into the system until it is firmly seated.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system.
Push the system cover latch down.
Using a flat head or Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise.
