Removal
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel highlighted in blue
Unlock the front bezel by using the key.
Press the release button, and pull the left end of the front bezel.
Unhook the right end, and remove the front bezel.
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a 1/4" Flathead or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch untill the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
Front Top cover
Identify the front top cover highlighted in blue
Slide the front top cover in the direction of the arrows marked on the front top cover and Lift the front top cover away from the system.
Cooling fan cage assembly
Identify the cooling fan cage assembly highlighted in blue
Lift the blue release levers to unlock the cooling fan cage assembly from the system
Hold the release levers, and lift the cooling fan cage assembly from the system.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue
Holding the edges of the air shroud, incline the air shroud at an angle.
Move the cables away from the air shroud to prevent the cables from being pinched or crimped.
Lift the air shroud from the system.
Hard Drive cage assembly
Identify the drive cage highlighted in blue
Disconnect the drive backplane cables from the connector on the backplane.
Loosen the thumb screws on the drive cage.
Slide the drive cage toward the front of the chassis.
Remove the captive screws securing the drive cage with metal plates on both side of the chassis.
Lift up the metal plates from both sides of the chassis.
Using both hands, hold and slowly pull the drive cage toward the front of the server.
PSB Top cover
Identify the PSB top cover highlighted in blue
Using both hands pull to unlock the 2 plungers on the sides of the PSB top cover and slide toward rear of the system.
Lift the PSB top cover from the system.
PCIe Switch Board module
Identify the PCIe switch board module highlighted in blue
Identify and disconnect the cables connected to PSB module from system board.
Push the PSB handle toward rear of the chassis, to disengage it from the PBB slot.
Lift the PSB module from the chassis.
PCIe Base Board Cage
Identify the PCIe base board highlighted in blue
Open the cable latch to remove the cables from the board.
Unroute and remove the cables from the PCIe base board connectors
Loosen the thumb screw on the PCIe base board.
Hold and slide PCIe base board toward rear of the chassis.
Lift the PCIe base board from the chassis.
PCIe Base Board
Identify the PCIe base board highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the PCIe base board to base board bracket.
Remove the PCIe base board bracket from PCIe base board.
After removing the bracket the rest of part is PCIe board.
Install
PCIe Base Board
Identify the PCIe base board location highlighted in blue
Install the PCIe base board bracket to PCIe base board.
Install the screws that secure the PCIe base board to base board bracket.
PCIe Base Board Cage
Identify the PCIe base board location highlighted in blue
Align and insert the tabs on the PCIe base board with the slots on the system.
Slide the PCIe base board forward until it clicks into place.
Tighten the thumb screw on the PCIe base board.
Route and install the cables in to the PCIe base board connector.
Close the cable latch on the PCIe base board to secure the cables.
PCIe Switch Board module
Identify the PCIe switch board module location highlighted in blue
Align the PSB module with the connector on the PBB.
Insert the PSB module firmly into the PBB until seated.
Push the PSB handle toward the front of the chassis, to engage it with PBB slot.
Connect the cables to PSB module from system board.
PSB Top cover
Identify the PSB top cover location highlighted in blue
Insert the PSB top cover on the system.
Pull the plunger to align the PSB top cover in its place and slide toward front of the system.
Hard Drive cage assembly
Identify the drive cage location highlighted in blue
Using both hands, hold and slowly push the drive cage toward the front of the server.
Align and place the metal plates on both sides of the chassis.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the drive cage with metal plates on both side of the chassis.
Push the drive cage toward the rear of the chassis.
Tighten the thumb screws on the drive cage.
Connect the all data, signal, and power cable(s) to the backplane.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue
Tilt the air shroud at an angle and align the air shroud tabs with the system slots.
Lower the air shroud into the system until it clicks into place.
Cooling fan cage assembly
Identify the cooling fan cage assembly location highlighted in blue
Holding the blue release lever of the cooling fan cage, align the guide rails on the cooling fan cage assembly with the standoffs on the system.
Lower the cooling fan cage assembly into the system until the cooling fan cage connectors engage with the connectors on the system board.
Lower the blue release lever and press to lock the cooling fan cage assembly into the system.
Front Top cover
Identify the front top cover location highlighted in blue
Align the tabs on the front top cover and Slide the front top cover to the front of the system until the front top cover fits into place.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system.
Push the system cover latch down.
Using a 1/4" Flathead or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise.
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel location highlighted in blue
Hook the right end of the front bezel onto the system.
Fit the free end of the front bezel onto the system.
Lock the front bezel by using the key.
