Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Use a plastic scribe to pry open the base cover starting from the recesses, which are located in the U shaped indents at the top edge of the base cover, near the hinges.
Pry open the top side of the base cover and continue working on the left, right and bottom sides to open the base cover.
Remove the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Solid state drive (SSD) - 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD shield from the system board.
Using a flat headed tool, pry open the SSD shield cover from the recess on its bottom side and remove it from the system.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Slide and remove the SSD from the M.2 card slot on the system board.
Install
Solid state drive (SSD) - 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch with the tab. Slide the SSD into the slot on the system board.
Install the screw to secure the SSD to the system board.
Align the screw hole on the SSD extension thermal plate with the screw hole on the system board.
Install the screw that secures the SSD shield to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots, press the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
