How to replace the Memory Modules on a Inspiron 3670

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Memory Modules and a Inspiron 3670. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Base Cover

1. Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
2. Remove the screws that secure the cover to the system.
3. Slide the cover toward the back of the system and lift the cover to remove.
4. Press and hold the power button for five seconds to ground the system board.

Memory Modules

1. Identify the memory modules highlighted in blue.
2. Push the retention tabs on both sides of the memory module.
3. Hold the edges and lift the memory module up from connector on the system board.

Install

Memory Modules

1. Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
2. Ensure the retention tabs are open and insert the memory module into the memory module socket.
3. Press the memory module until the memory module retention tabs click into place.

Base Cover

1. Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
2. Place the cover on the system, align the clips and slide the cover until it clicks into place.
3. Install the screws to secure the cover to the system.
