Removal
Power supply units (PSU).
Select the power supply unit (PSU) you want to replace
Disconnect the power cable from the power source and from the PSU you intend to remove, and then remove the cable from the strap on the PSU handle.
Press the release latch and slide the PSU out of the system by using the PSU handle.
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a flat head or a Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch till the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
Airshroud
cooling fan assembly
Identify the Cooling Fan Assembly highlighted in blue.
Lift the blue release levers to unlock the cooling fan cage assembly from the system.
Hold the release levers, and lift the cooling fan cage assembly away from the system.
Heatsink
Identify the heatsink highlighted in blue
Loosen the first and second screws three turns then third screw and fourth screw three turns.
Loosen the captive screws 1 and 2 completely.
Loosen the captive screws 3 and 4 completely.
Lift the heat sink from the system.
Place the heat sink on a flat surface with the processor side facing up
If you are using an existing heat sink, remove the thermal grease on the heat sink by using a clean lint-free cloth.
Processor
Identify the CPU highlighted in blue
Using a T20, Loosen the screws to release the force plate.
Lift the force plate that secure the processor.
Release the processor socket rail frame by lifting up the blue latches.
Holding the blue tab on the processor tray, slide the tray out of the rail frame.
Memory modules
Riser 01 assy
Identify the Riser 01 highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screws on the riser.
Press the blue button on the riser, and holding the touch points lift the expansion card riser 01 from the riser connector on the system board.
Riser 03
Identify the Riser 03 highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screw on the riser.
Press the blue button on the riser, and holding the touch points lift the expansion card riser 03 from the riser connector on the system board.
Riser 02
Identify the Riser 02 highlighted in blue
Press the blue button on the riser, and holding the touch points lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Riser 04
Identify the Riser 04 highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screw on the riser.
Press the blue button on the riser, and holding the touch points lift the expansion card riser 04 from the riser connector on the system board.
Intrusion switch
Identify the intrusion switch module highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the intrusion switch cable from the connector on the rear I/O board.
loosen the screw on the intrusion switch module.
Slide the intrusion switch module out of the slot on the system.
IDSDM module
OCP card
Identify the OCP card highlighted in blue
Open the blue latch to disengage the OCP card.
Push the OCP card towards the rear end of the system to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
Slide the OCP card out of the slot on the system.
Side Wall Bracket
Identify the Side Wall Bracket highlighted in blue.
Press the tab to release the side wall bracket cover.
Unroute the cables to release them from the side wall bracket.
Release the bracket from the chassis, and lift it away from the system.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Using the system board holder and plunger, slide the system board towards the front of the system.
Lift the system board out of the chassis.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue
Holding the system board holder and plunger, lower the system board into the system.
Slide the system board towards the rear of the chassis until the connectors are firmly seated in the slots.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Side Wall Bracket
Identify the Side Wall Bracket location highlighted in blue.
Align the side wall bracket with the tabs on the chassis.
Press the side wall bracket with your thumbs until the bracket firmly clicks into place.
Route the cables through the side wall bracket.
Close the side wall bracket cover with your thumbs until the cover firmly clicks into place.
OCP card
Identify the OCP card location highlighted in blue
Open the blue latch to install the OCP card.
Slide the OCP card into the slot in the system.
Push until the OCP card is connected to the connector on the system board.
Close the latch to lock the OCP card to the system.
IDSDM module
Intrusion switch
Identify the intrusion switch module highlighted in blue.
Align the guides on the intrusion switch module with the standoffs on the system.
Slide the intrusion switch module into the slot in the system until firmly seated.
tighten the screw on the intrusion switch module.
Connect switch cable to the connector on the system board.
Riser 04
Identify the Riser 04 location highlighted in blue
Holding the edges or the touch points, align the holes on the expansion card riser 04 with the guides on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser 04 into place and press the touch points until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated on the system board connector.
Tighten the captive screw on the riser.
Riser 02
Identify the Riser 02 location highlighted in blue
Holding the edges or the touch points, align the holes on the expansion card riser with the guides on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser into place until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated on the system board connector.
Riser 03
Identify the Riser 03 location highlighted in blue
Holding the edges or the touch points, align the holes on the expansion card riser 03 with the guides on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser 03 into place and press the touch points until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated on the system board connector.
Tighten the captive screw on the riser.
Riser 01 assy
Identify the Riser 01 location highlighted in blue
Holding the edges or the touch points, align the holes on the expansion card riser 01 with the guides on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser 01 into place and press the touch points until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated on the system board connector.
Tighten the captive screws on the riser.
Memory modules
Processor
Identify the CPU location highlighted in blue
Holding the blue tab on the processor tray, slide the tray into the processor socket rail frame until firmly seated.
Push the rail frame down until the blue latches lock into place.
Secure the force plate to the processor socket base
Using a T20, Tighten the screws in the sequential order. When all three screws are fully threaded, the socket is then actuated.
Heatsink
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue
Use the thermal grease syringe included with your kit to apply the grease in a thin spiral on the top of the processor.
Align the heat sink with the screw holes on the processor plate. The captive screws on the heat sink should align with the screw holes on the processor plate.
Partially tighten the first and second screws then third screw and fourth screws (approximately 3 turns).
Tighten the captive screws 1 and 2 completely.
Tighten the captive screws 3 and 4 completely.
cooling fan assembly
Identify the Cooling Fan Assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align the guide rails on the cooling fan cage assembly with the standoffs on the system.
Lower the cooling fan cage assembly into the system until the cooling fan cage connectors engage with the connectors on the system board.
Press the release levers to lock the cooling fan cage assembly into the system.
Airshroud
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system.
Push the system cover latch down.
Using a flat head or Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise.
Power supply units (PSU).
Confirm the power supply unit (PSU) you want to replace
Slide the PSU into the system until the PSU is fully seated and the release latch snaps into place.
Connect the power cable to the PSU, and plug the cable into a power outlet.
