Removal
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a 1/4 inch flat head or a phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock counterclockwise to the unlock position.
Lift the release latch until the system cover slides back.
Lift the system cover from the system.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue.
Hold the edges of the air shroud, and lift the air shroud out of the system.
Riser - 2b
Identify the riser highlighted in blue.
Unlock the riser latch, lift the riser to disconnect it from the connector, and remove it from the guide pin and cage.
Riser - 4b
Identify the riser highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the riser cable from the system board.
Hold the touch points, lift the riser to disconnect it from the connector, and remove it from the guide pin and cage.
Interposer Board
Identify the interposer board highlighted in blue.
Open the blue latch to disengage the interposer board.
Press and hold the push point on the card to slide the interposer board toward the rear of the system.
M.2 Solid State Drive (SSD)
Position the interposer board as shown.
Identify the SSD highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the top cover to the interposer board.
Tilt the top covers from the side and lift it off the interposer board.
Slide and remove the SSD from the interposer board.
Install
M.2 Solid State Drive (SSD)
Identify the SSD location highlighted in blue.
Flip the top cover and remove the old thermal pads from the top side.
Remove the thermal pads from the board in the SSD slot.
Flip the new thermal pads.
Remove the blue film from the new thermal pads.
Flip the new thermal pad and install it in the SSD slot on the board.
Remove the black mylars.
Slide and insert the SSD until it is firmly seated in the BOSS N1 card carrier.
Flip the new thermal pads.
Remove the blue film from the new thermal pads.
Flip and installing the new thermal pad inside the top cover.
Remove the black mylars.
Flip and install the top cover on the interposer board.
Tighten the screws that secure the top cover to the BOSS N1 card carrier.
Interposer Board
Identify the interposer board location highlighted in blue.
Slide the interposer board into the slot, then push it until it connects to the system board.
Close the blue latch to lock the interposer board to the system.
Riser - 4b
Identify the rear riser location highlighted in blue.
Align the riser with the connector and guide pin, lower it, press to fully seat it, then push the blue touch points to secure it.
Connect the riser cable to the system board.
Riser - 2b
Identify the riser location highlighted in blue.
Align the riser with the connector and guide pin, lower it, press to seat it fully, then lock it with the riser latch.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue.
Holding the edges of the air shroud, align the tabs on the air shroud with the standoff on the chassis.
Lower the air shroud into the system until it is firmly seated.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system, then slide the cover into place.
Close the system cover release latch.
Using a 1/4 inch flat head or phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise to the lock position.
