How to replace the SSD (Solid State Drive) 2280 on a Precision3591

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the SSD (Solid State Drive) 2280 and a Precision3591. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Base Cover

Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.

Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.

Pry the base cover near the hinges to release it from the system.

Remove the base cover by loosening the sides and front.

SSD (Solid State Drive) 2280

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the SSD bracket on the system board.

Remove the solid state drive bracket off the system.

Slide and lift the SSD to disconnect it from the system board.

Install

SSD (Solid State Drive) 2280

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.

Align the notch on the SSD with the tab on the slot and slide the SSD into the slot.

Align the screw holes on the solid state drive bracket with the screw holes on the system board.

Install the screws to secure the SSD bracket to the system board.

Base Cover

Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.

Align the base cover tabs to the slots, press the cover until it clicks into place.

Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
