How to replace the Wireless Module (WLAN) on a Dell Pro Micro Plus QBM1250

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Wireless Module (WLAN) and a Dell Pro Micro Plus QBM1250. The procedure will also include removing the Side Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Side Cover

Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.

Loosen the captive screw that secures the side cover to the chassis.

Slide and lift the side cover off the chassis.

Wireless Module (WLAN)

Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.

Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the wireless card.

Slide and lift the wireless card bracket off the wireless card.

Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless card.

Slide and remove the wireless card from the wireless card slot.

Install

Wireless Module (WLAN)

Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.

Slide the wireless card at an angle into the wireless card slot.

Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).

Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).

Slide and install the wireless card bracket on the wireless card.

Install the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the wireless card.

Side Cover

Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.

Place the side cover on the chassis by aligning its tabs with the slots on the system.

Slide the side cover towards the front of the computer.

Tighten the captive screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
