Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the cover to the system.
Slide the cover toward the back of the system and lift to remove.
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel highlighted in blue.
Lift the tabs to release the front bezel from the system.
Slightly lift system to remove the front bezel from the system.
Hard drive assembly
Identify the hard drive assembly highlighted in blue.
Slide the release tab to unlock the hard drive and optical assembly.
Disconnect the data and power cables from the connectors.
Holding the release tab, disconnect the optical drive data and power cables.
Slide and lift the hard drive and optical drive assembly from the system.
Heatsink
Identify the heatsink assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the heatsink assembly cable from the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the heatsink assembly.
Lift the heatsink assembly away from the system.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video).
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Push down and outwards to release the lever. Lift the lever upward and lift up the processor shield.
Hold the processor firmly by the sides and lift the processor straight upwards from its socket.
Expansion Card
Identify the expansion card highlighted in blue.
Pull the metal tab upward to release and unlock the expansion card.
Disconnect and lift the expansion card away from the connector. Hold the card by the edges.
Memory Modules
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Separate the securing clips from the memory module until the memory module pops up.
Remove the memory module from the socket on the system board.
SSD
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Pull the blue tab to release the SSD.
Holding the sides, slightly lift and slide the SSD out from the connector.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the I/O panel.
Remove the I/O panel. Slide to clear the rear system ports and push toward the front from the system.
Disconnect and unroute the PSU cables from the routing clips along the system chassis.
Disconnect the speaker, power button and intrusion switch cables.
Disconnect the hard drive and optical drive cables.
Remove the standoff single screw that secures the system board to the system.
Remove the screws that secure the system board.
Slide and lift the system board away from the system.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Lower the system board until the connectors at the back align with the slots on the system
Install the screws that secure the system board to the system
Install the standoff single screw that secures the system board to the system
Connect and route the PSU cables through the routing clips along the system chassis.
Connect the speaker, power button and intrusion switch cables.
Connect the hard drive and optical drive cables.
Insert the hook on the I/O panel into the slot on the system and rotate to close the I/O panel
install the screw to secure the I/O panel to the system
SSD
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch with the tab and insert the SSD into the connector.
Press the blue tab to secure the SSD.
Memory Modules
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Install the memory module into the memory module socket.
Press the memory module until the retention tabs click into place.
Expansion Card
Identify the expansion card location highlighted in blue.
Hold the expansion card by its edges and evenly push it down until it clicks.
Rotate the metal tab inwards until it clicks into place.
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Hold the processor edges and lower into its socket. Align the triangle on the processor with the socket. Do not use force as the pins can be easily damaged.
Close the processor shield by rotating it inwards. Lower the lever and push it under the tab to lock.
Heatsink
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply paste or pad included with the heatsink. Apply in a spiral pattern.
Place the heatsink assembly onto the processor.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the heatsink assembly to the system.
Connect the heatsink assembly cable to the system board.
Hard drive assembly
Identify the hard drive assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the hard drive and optical drive assembly into the slot on the system.
Connect the data and power cables onto the optical drive.
Connect the data and power cable on the hard drive and optical assembly.
Slide the tab to lock the hard drive assembly.
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel location highlighted in blue.
Slightly lift system to insert the tabs on the bezel into the slots on the system.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Install the cover on the system. Slide forward until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the cover.
