Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Slide the release latch until you hear a click.
Slide the side cover towards the back and lift it from the system.
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel highlighted in blue.
Gently pry and release the front bezel tabs sequentially from the top.
Rotate the front bezel outward from the chassis and remove the front bezel.
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery highlighted in blue.
Push the coin cell battery release lever on the coin cell battery socket to release the coin cell battery out of the socket.
Remove the coin cell battery.
Graphics Card
Identify the graphics card highlighted in blue.
Using the tab, lift and open the PCIe door.
Pull the release tab and lift the graphics card from the system board.
Hard drive assembly
HDD and Optical Drive Bracket
Identify the hard drive and optical drive bracket highlighted in blue.
Move the lock handle from the locking mechanism towards the left to unlock the bracket and detach it from the chassis.
Lift the bracket and detach it from the mounting points on the chassis.
Rotate the bracket and place it on the chassis.
Lift the hard drive and optical drive bracket away from the computer.
SSD
Memory Modules
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Power Button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the power button cable from its connector on the system board.
Press the release tabs on the power button head.
Remove the power button along with its cable out from the system.
Heat sink and Fan Assembly
Identify the heat sink and fan assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure heat sink and fan assembly to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Lift the heat sink and fan assembly off the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video).
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Push down the release lever and move it away from the processor to release it from the securing tab.
Extend the release lever completely and open the processor cover.
Gently lift the processor from the processor socket.
I/O modules
Identify the I/O module highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O module to the chassis.
Disconnect the I/O module cable from the connector on the system board.
Slide and lift the I/O module off the chassis.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the front I/O bracket to the chassis.
Rotate and remove the front I/O bracket from the chassis.
Disconnect the data and power cables from the System board.
Disconnect the power supply cables from their connectors on the system board.
Disconnect the internal speaker and the intrusion switch cables from their connectors on the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the support bracket to the chassis.
Lift the support bracket off the chassis.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Remove the standoff screw that secures the system board to the chassis.
Free the system board from the back I/O panel by sliding it towards the right and lift the system board out of the chassis.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Align and lower the system board into the system until the connectors at the back of the system board align with the slots on the chassis.
Install the screws to secure the system board to the chassis.
Install the standoff screw that secures the system board to the chassis.
Place the support bracket on the chassis and slide it towards the back of the chassis.
Install the screws to secure the support bracket to the chassis.
Connect the internal speaker and the intrusion switch cables to their connectors on the system board.
Connect the power supply cables to their connectors on the system board.
Connect the data and power cables to their connectors on the system board.
Place and align the front I/O bracket with I/O slot on the chassis.
Install the screw that secures the front I/O bracket to the chassis.
I/O modules
Identify the I/O module location highlighted in blue.
Insert the optional I/O module into its slot on the chassis.
Connect the I/O cable to the connector on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the I/O module to the chassis.
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Ensure that the release lever on the processor socket is fully extended in the open position.
Ensure that the pin 1 indicator on the processor socket and the CPU are aligned
Align the notches on the processor with the tabs on the socket and place it on the socket.
Once the processor is in place, lower the release lever and secure it under the tab on the processor cover.
Heat sink and Fan Assembly
Identify the heat sink and fan assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heat sink and fan assembly and align with the screw holes on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not overtighten.
Connect the fan cable to the connector on the system board.
Power Button
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Insert the power button cable into the slot from the front side of the computer, and press the power button head until it clicks into the place in the chassis.
Connect the power button cable to its connector on the system board.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Memory Modules
SSD
HDD and Optical Drive Bracket
Identify the hard drive and optical drive bracket location highlighted in blue.
Place the bracket upside down on the chassis.
Hold the bracket upright and align with its mounting points with the slots on the chassis.
Push the bracket until the assembly is secured onto the chassis.
Move the lock handle from the locking mechanism towards the right to lock the bracket in place.
Hard drive assembly
Graphics Card
Identify the graphics card location highlighted in blue.
Align the graphics card with the connector on the system board.
Install the graphics card to its connector on the system board and press down firmly.
Close the PCIe door to secure the graphics card in the slot.
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery location highlighted in blue
Insert the coin cell battery into the socket with the positive side (+) label facing up.
Snap the battery in the socket.
Front Bezel
Identify the front bezel location highlighted in blue.
Align the front cover tabs with the slots on the chassis.
Insert the front cover into the slots on the chassis and rotate the front cover towards the chassis and snap it into place.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the side cover towards the front of the system until you hear the release latch click.
