Removal
Power Supply Units
Select the power supply unit (PSU) you want to replace
Disconnect the power cable from the PSU
Press the orange release latch and slide the PSU out of the system by using the PSU handle
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a 1/4" Flathead or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch till the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue
Holding the blue touch points, apply firm pressure to remove the air shroud.
Cooling fan assembly
Select the cooling fan you want to replace
Holding the orange touch points, lift the fan out of the system.
System Memory
Select the system memory you want to replace. System can have up to 24 dimms installed.
To release the memory module from the socket, simultaneously press the ejectors on both ends of the socket.
Holding the memory by the edges, lift to remove.
Integrated storage controller card
Identify the integrated storage controller card highlighted in blue
Loosen the screws that secure the cable to the card connector on the system board
Route the integrated storage controller card cable along the wall of the system.
Lift the cable away from the integrated storage controller.
Lift one end of the card and angle it to disengage the card from the card holder on the system board.
Lift the card out of the system.
Heatsink and Processor
Select the processor heatsink assembly you want to remove.
Using Torx #T30 screwdriver, loosen the first screw three turns.
Using Torx #T30 screwdriver, loosen the second screw completely.
Return to the first screw and loosen it completely.
Pushing both blue retention clips simultaneously, lift the processor and heat sink module (PHM) out of the system
Place the heat sink on a flat surface with the processor side facing up
Riser 1A Assembly
Identify the riser 1A highlighted in blue
Press the release latches and lift the riser from the system board
Riser 2A Assembly
Identify the riser 2A highlighted in blue
Hold the touch points and lift the expansion card riser from the system board.
Network daughter card
Identify the network daughter card highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screws that secure it to the system board.
Lift to disengage and slide the card towards the front of system to remove.
Trusted Platform Module
Identify the Trusted Platform Module highlighted in blue
Remove the screw using the security Torx 8-bit shipped with the TPM module.
Slide the TPM module out from its connector.
Push the plastic rivet away from the TPM connector and rotate it 90° counterclockwise to release it from the system board.
Pull the plastic rivet out of its slot on the system board.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue
Disconnect the hard drive backplane cables and VGA Cables.
Unroute the hard drive backplane cables and VGA Cables.
Disconnect the right and left ear control cables.
Slide it toward the front of the chassis and Incline the system board at an angle and lift the system board out of the system.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue
Lower the system board into the chassis at an angle and push the system board toward the back of the chassis until the board clicks into place.
Connect the right and left ear control cables.
Route the hard drive backplane cables and VGA Cables.
Connect the hard drive backplane cables and VGA Cables.
Trusted Platform Module
Identify the Trusted Platform Module location highlighted in blue
To install the TPM, align the edge connectors on the TPM with the slot on the TPM connector.
Insert the TPM into the TPM connector such that the plastic rivet aligns with the slot on the system board.
Press the plastic rivet until the rivet snaps into place.
Network daughter card
Identify the Network daughter card location on the system board.
Insert the card into the slot and press down on the touch points until its firmly seated.
Tighten the captive screws to secure it to the system board.
Riser 2A Assembly
Identify the riser 2A location highlighted in blue
Holding the touch points, align the expansion card riser with the connector and the riser guide pin on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser into place until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated in the connector.
Riser 1A Assembly
Identify the riser 1A location highlighted in blue
Holding the touch points, align the expansion card riser with the connector and the riser guide pin on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser into place until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated in the connector.
Heatsink and Processor
Confirm the highlighted processor heatsink assembly is the correct location to install or change selection.
Align the pin 1 indicator of the PHM to the pin 1 indicator on the system board
Rest the PHM on the processor socket
Push the blue retention clips inward to allow the heat sink to set into place.
Using Torx #T30 screwdriver, partially tighten the first screw (approximately 3 turns).
Using Torx #T30 screwdriver, tighten the second screw completely.
Using Torx #T30 screwdriver return to the first screw and tighten it completely.
Integrated storage controller card
Identify the Integrated Storage Controller location on the system board.
Angle the integrated storage controller card and align the end of the card with the controller card connector on the system
board.
Lower the connector side of the integrated storage controller card into the integrated storage controller card connector on
the system board.
Route the integrated storage controller card cable along the wall of the system.
Align the screws on the integrated storage controller card cable with the screw holes on the connector.
Tighten the screws to secure the integrated storage controller card cable to the system board.
System Memory
Confirm the highlighted memory dimm is the correct location to install or change selection.
Align the edge connector of memory module with the alignment key of the memory module socket, and insert into the socket.
Press the memory module until the socket levers firmly click into place.
Cooling fan assembly
Confirm the highlighted fan is the correct location to install or change selection.
Install the fan into the slot and push down on the connector touch point until seated.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue
Align the tabs on the air shroud with the slots on the system.
Lower the air shroud into the system until it clicks into place.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system.
Push the system cover latch down.
Using a 1/4" Flathead or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise.
Power Supply Units
Confirm the highlighted PSU is the correct location to install or change selection.
Slide the PSU into the system until the PSU is fully seated and the release latch snaps into place.
Connect the power cable to the PSU
