Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the thumb screw that secures the side cover to the chassis.
Slide and lift the side cover off the chassis.
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery highlighted in blue.
Push the release lever on the coin cell battery socket to release it from the socket.
Lift the coin cell battery from the coin cell battery socket.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Speaker
Identify the speaker highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
Remove the speaker cable from the routing guides on the chassis.
Press on the tab that secures the speaker and lift the speaker off the system board.
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Fan Assembly
Identify the fan assembly highlighted in blue.
Press and hold the tabs that secures the fan assembly to the system board.
Slide and lift the fan assembly off the system board and flip over the fan assembly.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Lift the fan assembly off the chassis.
Memory Modules
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end until the memory module pops up.
Slide and remove the memory module from the memory module slot.
I/O module
Identify the I/O module highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O module to the system.
Slide the I/O module from the system, do not remove it completely.
Lift and hold the I/O module and disconnect the cable from the connector on the system board.
Remove the I/O module from the computer.
Type-C module
Identify the Type-C module highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the Type-C module.
Slide the Type-C module from the system, do not remove it completely.
Lift and hold the Type-C module in place above the system board.
Disconnect the Type-C display port, USB, power and signal cables from the system board.
Remove the Type-C module from the computer.
Heatsink
Identify the heatsink highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the heatsink to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Lift the heat sink off the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video).
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Press down and push the release lever away from the processor to release it from the securing tab.
Extend the release lever completely and open the processor cover.
Gently lift the processor from the processor socket.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the speaker support bracket to the system board.
Lift the speaker support bracket off the system board.
Remove the screws that secures the system board to the chassis.
Remove the screws that secures the system board to the chassis.
Lift the system board at an angle and remove it from the chassis.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
At an angle, insert the front of the system board through the front of the chassis.
Place the system board on the chassis and align with the screw holes.
Install the screws that secures the system board to the chassis.
Install the screws that secures the system board to the chassis.
Place the speaker support bracket on the system board and align with the screw holes.
Install the screw that secures the speaker support bracket to the system board.
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Ensure that the release lever on the processor socket is fully extended in the open position.
Ensure that the pin 1 indicator on the processor socket and the CPU are aligned.
Align the notches on the processor with the tabs on the socket and place it on the socket.
Once the processor is in place, lower the release lever and secure it under the tab on the processor cover.
Heatsink
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heatsink on the system board and align with screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink to the system board. Tighten in order.
Type-C module
Identify the Type-C module position highlighted in blue.
Place the Type-C module at an angle and hold in position.
Connect the Type-C display port, USB, power and signal cables to the system board and align the Type-C module.
Insert the Type-C module into its slot from the inside of your computer.
Install the screws that secure the Type-C module.
I/O module
Identify the I/O module position highlighted in blue.
Place and align the I/O module near the system.
Connect the I/O cable to the connector on the system board and align the I/O module on the system.
Insert the I/O module into its slot from the inside of your computer.
Install the screw that seure the I/O module to the system.
Memory Modules
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the slot and slide the memory into the slot at an angle.
Press the memory module down until it clicks into place.
Fan Assembly
Identify the fan assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the fan assembly near to the chassis.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Flip over the fan assembly.
Grab the tabs on the fan assembly, insert it into the system board slot and then release the tabs.
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Speaker
Identify the speaker location highlighted in blue.
Press and hold on the tab on the speaker and place the speaker on the system board.
Route the speaker cable through the routing guides on the chassis.
Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery location highlighted in blue.
Insert the coin cell battery into the socket with the positive side (+) label facing up.
Snap the battery into place.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the side cover into place towards the front of the computer.
Tighten the thumb screw that secure the side cover to the chassis.
