Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system
Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover starting from bottom edge of the cover.
Lift the base cover starting from the bottom edge and remove it from the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Lift the battery from the system.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Wireless Module (WWAN)
SSD Primary
Inner frame
Identify the inner frame highlighted in blue.
Unroute the wireless module cables (WLAN and WWAN - optional) from the routing guide.
Disconnect the fan cables and the power adapter port cable.
Remove the screws that secure the inner frame to the system chassis.
Remove the screws that secure the inner frame to the system chassis.
Remove the inner frame from the system.
SD card reader
Identify the SD card reader highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the SD card reader cable from the SD card reader board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the LED board cable from the SD card reader.
Remove the screw that secures the SD card reader.
Remove the SD card reader board from the system.
Install
SD card reader
Identify the SD card reader location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the SD card reader board into the slot on the system.
Install the screw to secure the SD card reader to the palmrest.
Connect the LED board cable to the SD card reader. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the SD card reader cable to the SD card reader board. Close the latch to secure.
Inner frame
Identify the inner frame location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the inner frame in the system chassis.
Install the screws to secure the inner frame in place.
Install the screws to secure the inner frame in place.
Route the wireless module cables (WLAN and WWAN - optional) through the routing guide.
Connect the fan cables and the power adapter port cable.

Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Insert the battery into the slot on the system.
Install the screws to secure the battery to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the base cover into its slot until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the base cover to the system.
