Removal
Base cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Use a scribe to pry open the base cover near the captive screws, then continue working along the sides.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Peel the tape to access the battery cable connector.
Push the switch upward on the battery cable connector to the OFF position to disconnect power from the battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Wireless Card
Identify the wireless card highlighted in blue.
Peel off the mylar to access the wireless card.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Lift the wireless card bracket from the WLAN card.
Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables from the WLAN card.
Slide and remove the wireless card from the system board.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue.
Open the latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the camera cable from the system board.
Remove the display and camera cables away from the palm rest assembly.
Remove the antenna cables from the routing guides on the side of the left fan and the system board.
Rear Cap
Position the system as shown in AR.
Identify the rear cap highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the rear cap to the system.
Lift the rear cap off the palm rest assembly.
Center Bar
Identify the center bar highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the center bar to the palm rest assembly.
Open the display lid and place it in an upright position. Apply pressure with a finger above the power adapter port and insert a scribe to pry the center bar.
Lift the center bar off the palm rest assembly, close the display lid, and place the computer with the lid facing downwards.
Display Assembly
Open the display to a 90 degree angle and place the computer at the edge of a flat table.
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the antenna and display cables from the routing guides on the power adapter port and the right hinge cover.
Remove the screws that secure the display hinges on the palm rest assembly.
Remove the display assembly from the palm rest assembly.
Install
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the display assembly on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the display hinges to the palm rest assembly.
Route the antenna and display cables through the routing guides on the power adapter port and the right hinge cover.
Close the display and place the computer on a flat table, as shown in AR.
Center Bar
Identify the center bar location highlighted in blue.
Open the display lid and place it in an upright position. Snap the center bar into position on the palm rest assembly.
Close the display lid and place the computer with the lid facing downwards.
Install the screws that secure the center bar to the palm rest assembly.
Rear Cap
Identify the rear cap location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the rear cap on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the rear cap to the system.
Position the system as shown in AR.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable location highlighted in blue.
Route the antenna cables through the routing guides on the side of the left fan and the system board.
Route the display and camera cables through the palm rest assembly.
Connect the camera cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the display cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Wireless Card
Identify the wireless card location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the wireless card into the slot on the system board.
Connect the white cable to the main. (white triangle)
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary. (black triangle)
Install the wireless card bracket onto the wireless card.
Install the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide down the switch on the battery cable connector to restore power from the battery.
Align and place the base cover, then press along the edges until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
