Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the basecover from bottom left to loosen.
Slide and lift the base cover off the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Lift the battery to remove from the system.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the WLAN bracket.
Slide and remove the bracket to access the WLAN cables.
Disconnect the antenna cables (black and gray cables) from the WLAN.
Slide and remove the wireless module out of the slot on the system board.
Rear I/O Cover
Identify the rear I/O cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws on the back of the system that secure the rear cover.
Remove the screws that secure the left and right tron light cables to the system board.
Disconnect the rear I/O cables from the system board.
Push the rear cover away from the system and lift it off the system.
SSD 2230

SSD Bracket
Identify the SSD bracket highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD bracket to the system.
Lift the SSD brackets from the system.
Processor fan
Ensure that the palm rest assembly is placed face down.
Identify the Processor fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the processor fan cable and speaker cable from the system board.
Unroute the speaker and antenna cables from the bottom of the processor fan.
Remove the screws that secure the processor fan to the system.
Lift the processor fan from the system.
Graphics-card fan
Identify the graphics card fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the graphics card fan cable from the system board.
Unroute the speaker and antenna cables from the bottom of the Graphics card fan.
Remove the screws that secure the graphics card fan to the system.
Lift the graphics card fan from the system.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adapter port highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power adapter port bracket.
Remove the power adapter port bracket from the power adapter port.
Disconnect the power adapter port cable from the system board.
Peel the tape that secures the power adapter port cable to the the fan and heat sink assembly.
Lift the power adapter port and peel the cable from the system board.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the display cable bracket to the system.
Remove the display cable bracket from the system board.
Disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Peel the tape that secure the keyboard controller board cable to the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard controller board, microSD card reader and power button cables from the system board.
Peel the tape, open the metal latch, and disconnect the headset port cable from the system board.
Peel the tape, open the metal latch, and disconnect the I/O board cable from the system board.
Peel and unroute the IO board and headset port cables from the system.
Disconnect the right fan and left fan cables from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the system board.
Lift up the system board assembly away from the palm rest.
Power button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power button.
Lift the power button, along with its cable, off the system.
Install
Power button
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the power button, along with its cable, into the slot on the palm rest..
Install the screws to secure the power button.
System Board Assembly
Ensure that the palm rest assembly is placed face down.
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the system board assembly on the palm rest, using the alignment posts.
Install the screws that secure the system board.
Connect the right fan and left fan cables to the system board.
Adhere and route the IO board and headset port cables to the system.
Connect the I/O board cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the headset port cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the keyboard controller board, microSD card reader and power button cables. Close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tape to secure the keyboard controller cable to the system board.
Connect the display cable to the system board.
Install the display cable bracket to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the display cable bracket to the system.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adapter port location highlighted in blue.
Install the power adapter port into the slot and adhere the cable to the system board.
Connect the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Adhere the tape that secures the power adapter port to the fan and heat sink assembly.
Install the bracket over the power adapter port.
Install the screws to secure the power adapter port bracket.
Graphics-card fan
Identify the graphics card fan location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the graphics card fan into the slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the graphics card fan to the system.
Route the speaker and antenna cables to the bottom of the Graphics card fan.
Connect the graphics card fan cable to the system board.
Processor fan
Identify the processor fan location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the processor fan into the slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the processor fan to the system.
Route the speaker and antenna cables to the bottom of the processor fan.
Connect the processor fan cable and speaker cable to the system board.
SSD Bracket
Identify the SSD bracket location highlighted in blue.
Align the screw hole on the SSD bracket with the screw hole on the system.
Install the screw that secure the SSD bracket to the system.
SSD 2280

Rear I/O Cover
Identify the rear I/O cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the rear cover towards the system till it snaps into place. Be cautious of the plastic clips under the cover to make sure they are aligned.
Connect the rear I/O cables to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the left and right tron light cables to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the rear cover on the back of the system.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module location (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Insert the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the cable with gray sticker to the main (white triangle).
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Side and install the bracket to secure the antenna cables.
Install the screw to secure the WLAN.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Align and install the battery into the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws to secure the battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide and align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
