Landkreis Heidenheim in Germany acquired the IT management of 10 local authorities when the Baden Wurttemburg administration reform came into effect. This sudden increase in data meant that its IT employees had to rapidly increase the processing power of their datacenter.

The Landkreis Heidenheim deployed VMware^®  ESX Server that runs multiple virtual machines on Dell^TM  PowerEdge^TM  servers, as well as a Dell | EMC storage system. This will help the authority process massive quantities of data quickly and help simplify the IT environment.

The increased storage capacity allows information to be processed faster for users; Virtualization consolidates 10 servers onto two physical machines and decreases the datacenter footprint; More efficient use of servers and reduced power requirements; Strategic alliance between SAP and Dell supports deployment of new ERP solution.
