Subscribe to receive Dell Driver and Firmware Update notifications


In order to ensure optimal performance and stability for your Dell system, it is important to be aware of the latest updates available for the drivers and firmware.

There are several systems to do this as explained in the article below.

1. Update Notifications

Note: To access this information, you should create a Dell account on MyAccount, using your email details or by linking to a social media account such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook or Google+.
  • Dell Technical Update Notifications are a great way to get information on releases as soon as they become public.

  • You can subscribe for Email notifications and RSS feeds.

  • From the Dell Support page, you will find both notification options for Drivers and Firmware updates with the following steps:

    1. Go to your local Dell website

    2. Click on Support in the top menu and then on Support By Product (Figure 1 below (English only)).
      Alternatively, you can go directly to the Product Support Page.

    3. Enter your Service Tag if you haven't already done so. Alternatively, you can choose from all products.

    4. On the Product Support page, click on the Drivers and Downloads tab in the left hand menu (Figure 2 below (English only)).

    5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the Update Notification section.

    6. Click on the arrow to open the submenu (Figure 3 below (English only)).

  • For specifics and additional links to many interesting RSS connection points, visit the TechCenter RSS Feeds page (Only English) on the Dell Community Web Site.


2. Dell Repository Manager

  • Finally, the Repository Manager is a tool for updating your Dell Server with Drivers and Firmware.

  • The tool can also pole the Dell Web site for up to the minute updates which have been added to the site.

3. Additional information

A lot of information on drivers and firmware is available on the Dell Support Site under the Drivers and Downloads section: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/home
