Removing the system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. memory

    4. hard drive assembly or M.2 SSD or PCIe SSD
    5. keyboard

    6. dock frame

    7. WLAN

    8. WWAN

    9. heat sink assembly

    10. power connector port

  3. To remove the system board:
    1. Lift the latch and disconnect the speaker cable, touch pad and system board cable from the computer [1, 2 , 3].
    2. Disconnect the eDP cable from the system board [4].
    3. Remove the screws that secures system board to the computer [5].
    4. Lift the system board from the computer [6].
