The power button controls the power supply output to the system. Note that on ACPI-compliant operating systems, turning off the system by using the power button causes the system to perform a graceful shutdown before power to the system is turned off. Item 2 is the NMI button that is used to troubleshoot software and device driver errors when running certain operating systems. This button can be pressed using the end of a paper clip. Use this button only if directed to do so by qualified support personnel or by the operating system documentation. Item 3 are the system identification buttons on the front and back panels that can be used to locate a particular system within a rack. When one of these buttons is pressed, the LCD panel on the front and the system status indicator on the back flash until one of the buttons is pressed again. Press to toggle the system ID on and off. If the system stops responding during POST, press and hold the system ID button for more than five seconds to enter BIOS progress mode. To reset iDRAC (if not disabled in F2 iDRAC setup), press and hold the button for more than 15 seconds. Item 4 is the video connector that allows you to connect a display to the system. Item 5 are the LCD menu buttons that allow you to navigate the control panel LCD menu. Item 6 is the LCD panel that displays system ID, status information, and system error messages. For more information, see LCD panel features. Item 7 is the USB management port/iDRAC Direct that allows you to connect USB devices to the system or provides access to the iDRAC Direct features. Item 8 is the USB connector that allows you to connect USB devices to the system. The port is USB 2.0-compliant. Item 9 is the information tag that contains system information such as service tag, NIC, MAC address for your reference. The information tag is a slide-out label panel. Item 10 are hard drive slots that enable you to install up to four 3.5-inch hot-swappable hard drives or four 2.5-inch hot-swappable hard drives in 3.5-inch hard drive adapters. Item 11 is the optical drive slot that enables you to install an optional slim SATA DVD-ROM drive or DVD+/-RW drive.
