NOTE: Opening
or removing the system cover when the system is on may expose you
to a risk of electric shock. Exercise utmost care while removing or
installing cooling fans.
NOTE: The cooling fan can continue to spin for some time after it has been
powered down. Allow time for the fan to stop spinning before removing
it from the system.
CAUTION: Many repairs may only
be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation,
or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team.
Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered
by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are
shipped with your product.
CAUTION: The
cooling fans are hot-swappable. To maintain proper cooling while the
system is on, replace only one fan at a time.
CAUTION: To ensure
proper operation and cooling, you must replace a cooling fan within
two minutes of removal.
NOTE: You must remove a cooling
fan to replace a faulty fan or service other components in the system.
NOTE: The procedure
for removing each fan is identical.
