Removing the system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. SD card

    2. battery cover

    3. battery

    4. base cover

    5. hard drive

    6. keyboard

    7. HDD cable

    8. primary memory

    9. WLAN card

    10. WWAN card

    11. M.2 SSD

    12. video card

    13. power connector port

    14. palmrest

    15. I/O board left

    16. I/O board right

    17. heat sink

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the shield to the system board [1].
    2. Lift the shield away from the computer [2].
    3. Disconnect the eDP cable [3, 4].
    4. Lift the tab and disconnect the power-connector cable [5, 6].
    5. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the computer [7].
    6. Lift and remove the system board away from the computer [8].
