Removing the system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover

    2. bezel

  3. Open the front panel door.
  4. Remove the:
    1. heat sink assembly

    2. processor

    3. PCIe expansion card

    4. memory module

    5. WLAN card

    6. system fan

  5. Disconnect all the cables from the connectors on the system board.
  6. To remove the system board:
    1. Remove the 6-32xL6.35 screws that secure the system board to the computer [1].
    2. Slide and lift the system board away from the chassis [2].
