Maximum workload performance

Input, process, analyze and report data on the same platform. Consolidate servers and scale-up during peak workloads. The PowerEdge™ M915 has the high-density core power you need for your most demanding tasks.
PowerEdge M915 - powerhouse computing

Powerhouse computing

Enhance your data center performance with the PowerEdge M915 blade server. Up to 64 processor cores per blade give you the power to:
  • Quickly and confidently execute your mission-critical business applications
  • Run robust virtual machines (VMs) to help reap all the benefits of consolidation
  • Help increase database performance by running more tasks simultaneously

Boost business performance

Consolidate your data center with powerful AMD technology that is designed to:

  • Deliver 64-processor cores for optimal 4S performance with 2S value and provide the essential features needed to operate your consolidated infrastructure efficiently
  • Allow you to monitor power and thermals at the processor level to assist with platform efficiency
Deploy vast pools of processor cores that can be directly assigned to virtualized servers. A PowerEdge M1000e blade enclosure, fully loaded with eight PowerEdge M915s, employing up to 16-core AMD Opteron™ 6100, 6200 and 6300 series processors, can help achieve an impressive 512 cores per chassis or 51.2 cores per U.
PowerEdge M915 - throughput, throughput, throughput

Throughput, throughput, throughput

Unleash the potential of your consolidated VMs with more I/O throughput.
  • Maximizing both 10GbE and 1GbE port counts provides your virtualized applications with the dedicated bandwidth they need in input/output (I/O)-intensive environments.
  • Enabling a choice of fabric and vendor can enhance your flexibility to adopt and deploy networks at your own pace.
  • Up to six dual-port 10GbE network cards can bring the total aggregate throughput into a single server to an amazing 120 Gbps.
An integrated, flexible network daughter-card enables a choice of embedded network adaptors. Select either 1GbE network interface cards (NICs) or 10GB converged network adaptors (CNAs) to attach to M1000e I/O modules, such as the Dell™ M8428-k converged network switch. I/O traffic can then flow to your existing Dell or 3rd-party switching infrastructure.

Enterprise-class manageability and efficiency

Spend more time creating business value and less time planning, deploying and managing IT. You can also cut your power and cooling costs without forfeiting any performance.

PowerEdge M915 - enterprise-class manageability and efficiency

One-to-many updating

Chassis Management Controller and Lifecycle Controller simplify the update process for BIOS, firmware and drivers on a one-to-many basis, without additional software. Multi-chassis management provides one-console access to several blade enclosures.

Industry-leading power and cooling

Up to 92+ percent efficient*, fully redundant power supplies utilize minimal power without compromising productivity. High-efficiency fans and intuitive chassis airflow ducting drive enterprise-class cooling with minimal power draw.

Enterprise-class availability

Safeguard your organization from IT loss or corruption with data-protective redundancy through optional dual fail-safe embedded hypervisors and hard-drive fault tolerance, which is enabled by a hardware RAID (PERC) controller.

Flexibility refedined

Only Dell M-Series provides complete, snap-in FlexIO scalability down to the switch interconnects. FlexIO technology is the foundation of the M1000e I/O subsystem that has the flexibility you need to design today’s solution and the scalability you require to add or change data center options to meet future demands.

Ethernet

Ethernet

The M-Series enclosure supports a broad set of modular gigabit Ethernet (GbE), 10GbE and Enhanced Ethernet blade switches.

Dell's fully modular PowerConnect™ and Dell Force10™ switches provide great flexibility, with choices of 1Gb to 10Gb speeds, flexible modular uplinks of varying media types, and many other valuable features. The PowerConnect and Dell Force10 portfolio offers a selection of switches that can meet even the most extreme networking demands.

For Cisco Catalyst customers, Dell provides models that span from simple, no frills GbE to more capable models with stacking or even 10GbE uplinks. The more advanced switches feature Cisco's Virtual Blade Switch functionality, enabling you to interconnect up to nine switches to create a single logical switch, thereby simplifying data center management.

Fibre Channel

Brocade 8Gb Fibre Channel Switches provide powerful connectivity to Fibre Channel SANs, such as those offered by Dell/EMC. The M5424 includes 12-port and 24-port configurations as well as a performance pack for enhanced features and management.

For heterogeneous integration into any Fibre Channel network, the Brocade M5424 Fibre Channel switch can even be enabled in Access Gateway mode. Based on N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) functionality, Access Gateway mode delivers the cable aggregation benefits and cost savings offered by Dell’s M-Series blade solutions without separate management or configuration requirements.

Fibre Channel

InfiniBand

InfiniBand

For high-performance computing (HPC) or other environments requiring the highest bandwidth and lowest latency available, the M-Series offers InfiniBand™ switches and adapter cards. Dell offers chassis-integrated quad data rate (QDR) and fourteen data rate (FDR) InfiniBand switches from Mellanox, with speeds of up to 56Gbps. Each switch features 16 internal ports and 8 external ports to ensure the availability and redundancy needed for the most demanding applications.
