2 x RTX 2080 in R7 with 850 W psu
From what I read, a 600 W power supply is recommended for a RTX 2080 (no overclocking) and an addition 200 W needed for a second RTX 2080.
My Aurora R7 has 850 W power supply for:
- intel i5 8600k overclocked to 5.0 GHx water cooled, 32 GB of hyperx 2933 ram, nvme ssd1Tb and maybe someday a 1 TB SSD.
In theory the 850 W supply should be capable of powering two RTX2080 cards in SLi mode but wouldn't leave much in reserve - has anyone actually have this set up to confirm it will work?

There is a lot of talk about PSUs online that make it seem like you need more than you do.
850w will handle that system just fine.

Given the 300W per card I would say that an AREA51 machine with 1500W power supply would be needed.
900W is not enough for ONE 2080 in my Mac Pro Tower.
Recommended Min is 650W with 6 + 8 pin aux connectors.

6 + 8 means your GPU needs 300W for itself.
Do you really believe everything else will run on 250W?
