AW3423DW, Pixel Auto Warning Message missing
The User's Guide mentions the option to disable the pixel/panel refresh "Auto Warning Message" under "OLED Panel Maintenance" but I can't find it anywhere.
I'm using firmware M0B101 and can't find any firmware updates online or update options via Alienware Command Center.
Does anyone know of any firmware updates that may add this option, or how to disable the super annoying warning message that gets in the way of things like the primary purpose of gaming?
I can't believe that Dell / Alienware would force this message popup that could completely mess up your competitive gaming session (e.g., right in the middle of an intense FPS fight).
Thanks!

Confirmed.
The current online AW3423DW User's Guide (revision A01, April 2022) shows the Menu options for AW3423DW firmware versions NEWER than M0B101.
M0B101 never had the "Menu- Others- OLED Panel Maintenance- Auto Warning Message = On/Off" option.
On newer firmware AW3423DW, even if you set “Menu- Others- OLED Panel Maintenance- Auto Warning Message = Off”, if the accumulated usage time exceeds 4 hours, Pixel Refresh will be activated automatically when the monitor goes into Standby mode and/or if you press the power button.
The Displays Team stated that the AW3423DW firmware cannot be upgraded by customers. This is why you do not see any firmware updates or a firmware update guide on the AW3423DW drivers page.

The AW3423DW Drivers & Downloads does not provide any firmware updates. The AWCC (Alienware Command Center) would never offer a monitor firmware update.
Get a picture of your AW3423DW Menu- Others. Scrub out the Service Tag. Then post it so we can compare the picture to what the online AW3423DW User's Guide shows.

Eh, I think you're misunderstanding the issue.
There's supposed to an option to disable the annoying message that pops up. That option is missing on my monitor.

Both of you post your non-private 20 digit serial numbers for me.
Howiejc, did you receive a private message from Dell asking for the private Service Tag? If yes, reply to it with the Service Tag.

Howiejc AW3423DW built in February 2022
namlee1j AW3423DW built in March 2022
The AW3423DW User's Guide revision A01 was posted in April 2022.
The implication based on dates is that the pictures we see in the AW3423DW User's Guide revision A01 were for later firmware version AW3423DW.
The only way to verify that implication would be that an AW3423DW user with a later firmware version post what they see in the Menu.

It's simply not there, just as @namlee1j shows in his/her pic...

I replied to DELL-Cares with my service tag.
I'm guessing the SN is unique similar to the service tag so I'd rather not post the SN publicly unless you're sure there's zero risk/repercussions for doing so.

Ok, clearly a firmware update would likely be needed.
Could you please help see if it can be released asap?
It's hard to imagine there's no firmware updater already in existence unless engineering messed up big time.
Thanks!

That is way beyond what I can do. I simply notify the specific teams of hot issues found on this Forum. Based on past monitors, most never had customer accessible firmware updates. If there is a firmware update, it is done in the Dell internal Service Center on returned monitors and new monitors. But, there is no mechanism in place for a customer to send us their monitor, get a firmware update, then send it back to the customer.

Notifying the respective teams of an extremely low-hanging-fruit for a significant issue like this is good enough from your end.
Customer-installed firmware updates are extremely common for all kinds of devices and are typically a necessary design requirement for both the customer and the manufacturer to fix/maintain products.
Almost every digital device today utilize in-the-field firmware updates. The list of examples below could go on and on:
I'm an engineer who's worked on various products, many of which allow firmware updates in the field by the customer. I can't imagine not having this option available as their are so many cons for not doing so.
Any company that requires the customer to send in their product for a simple firmware update is either incompetent or extremely high-risk (e.g., implantable medical device, multi-million dollar equipment).
Hopefully the design team is already planning on releasing firmware updates... otherwise they need to seriously reconsider their design requirement and development process.

So, do you give us firmware update or not? It's obvious that there's no warning message option on the OSD, so why don't you tell me how to solve it?

Yeah, I'd absolutely would not buy something that wouldn't allow updates from the customer, or at the very least via remote access from a support team, i.e. cable modem firmware updates.
