AW3423DWF, loud coil whine
Hi,
I just got the Alienware AW3423DWF monitor and it have a terrible coil whine. My settings are:
1440p resolution, 165Hz, DP. Updated firmware M3B103. I disabled the RGB with helps, but still is there. Any ideas how to fix it?
Thanks

I have the same issue. Changing the RGB settings to something different seems like it helps temporarily, but it comes back after an hour or so. It also comes and goes depending on the brightness of the screen; sometimes it makes the sound when the screen is completely black, other times when the screen is completely lit up. Very sharp, ear-piercing sound, almost like a mosquito. It seemed to only set in after owning the monitor for a few months. There are quite a few folks on other forums having the same problem.

There is no way to fix it. It was a terrible choice of design by Dell on this monitor.

This it what i found with my testing, if you set the frame rate to the maximum the coil whine is always there, if you reduce it to 60 hz it goes away when the Monitor warm up, but that is the point right?, also RGB have to be turned off, it has its own noise
then i got in contact with Dell support and they send me a full list of test i need to do and same as here they asme for an audio, finaly they deside it to replace the monitor, im waiting for the delivery
Kudos to dell support for their promtly reply
