AW3821DW, questions
Hello,
Just a question about the last monitor by Dell Alienware AW3821DW
I started to see reviews did by serious persons like tft central and Rtings and both of theres noticed overshoot (reverse ghosting) even at minimal overdrive (fast).
Like this monitor use a nano-ips by LG, I don't understand why the 38GL950-b is better than the alienware on this point.
Due to that my question is, would this issue could be fixed by a firmware update ?
And other thing, can we update the monitor easily ?

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

oh sorry I didn't understand why I have this private message, but I don't know what is the service tag number.
Could you please explain me, where I can find this tag number and send me another private message, I delete all the previous one.
Thx a lot.

"I didn't understand why I have this private message"
I believe these messages are auto generated on for example new posts. If you have a valid warranty your potential service options may be different (warranty claims for example)

It's printed on the back of the monitor. It's like a serial number. Each AW3921DW monitor would have a unique and different service tag number.

=============================
They might use the same LG-panel, but it's unlikely the motherboard and control-software/firmware is the same.
Buy the monitor you like.
I'm not real-familiar with these new Alienware monitors (I instead like UltraSharps and LG-Pros) but I've never really heard of a "field installable firmware" for a Dell monitor. That and calibrations/certifications are done at the factory.

Hi,
I don't think Dell Support themselves know where to find the service tag on these monitors. I recently logged a ticket regarding Windows 11 drivers that are still not available for this monitor and they asked me to check the bottom and the rear for the service tag - it was really frustrating that they ask me to check the rear and underneath as it does not exist where they asked me to check.
After some reading the user manual, there was one line entry where it describes the location of the Service Tag, this is only accessible from the OSD, navigate to "Others" and here you will see the Service Tag for this monitor.
I think the monitor "looks" great, however it has very few features most other monitors have built-in as a base - this monitor has no PiP, no signal auto-switching, nothing! What I do like and found by accident is the built-in soundcard switches with the active PC connected. Windows 10 works, but once I upgraded to Windows 11, the built-in soundcard was no longer visible so it obviously is a driver issue.
So the feature of having the latest Windows 11 drivers is still not available and one would think as premium monitors they'd have a driver for Windows 11 in this day and age??? I'm so frustrated in that this monitor is holding me back from going to Windows 11 experience!
