Aurora R10, BIOS 2.3.1, did Alienware do something right ?

As some of you know, I am doing the BIOS update on my Aurora R10 Ryzen 3700X on a regular basis, hoping all the time that something will change in the AGESA version, and since the beginning we are stuck to 1.0.0.6.

But listen Brothers and Sisters, today is the day of change, today it the day of 2.3.1 BIOS update! And I am telling you, this is the day of change, a day of improvements!

The 2.3.1 BIOS update comes with AGESA 1.0.0.7!

BIOS 2.2.6 - 1.0.0.6BIOS 2.2.6 - 1.0.0.6BIOS 2.3.1 - 1.0.0.7BIOS 2.3.1 - 1.0.0.7

What is the difference, you would ask, and you were right to ask! This revision was release in 2018, yes 4 years ago, to support Raven Ridge Apus, and that's it.

Have a nice day.

I was going to say, that's basically no change...

Actually that agesa came with bios 2.3.0, but maybe we will be allowed to reach 1.0.0.8 some day.

Our top dream is 1.2.0.7 but, by that time it would be for a new computer

yeah, if they only gave us 1.0.0.8, then possibly it is enough to support new ryzen already. At least from what I've read, 1.0.0.8 minimum is required for ryzen 5xxx processors to be recognized, and allowed to even boot.

1.X.X.X would give it full performance support.

That would be 1.1.8.0, not 1.0.0.8.

For proper Ryzen 5000 support you would need a minimum of 1.1.8.0 or 1.1.0.0 pending on the chipset.

Be aware the R10 uses an OEM only chipset that is a B450A, which is not the same as a B450.

If you look at MSI for example,  B450A can support Ryzen5000, maybe not all the new options, but at least you can upgrade your cpu. Knowing that the RTX30** from Dell are actually MSI cards, we can always hope, but honestly, i think it will never happened.

The RTX 3000 cards that are used in Alienware PC's are manufactured by MSI. They are OEM products and not MSI products, and are manufactured as per Alienware/Dell specifications.

If you for example look at the official Aurora R11 FAQ, you will see this indicated: Aurora R11 FAQ

Validated OEM video cards =

M8HMD Nvidia/MSI RTX 3090, 24GB

There are a few exceptions for the lower end cards. Those were manufactured by ECS.

?

Look, i was reading this topiv because Vanadiel gives the right answer, now you start about a RTX from Dell are '' actually '' MSI graphics?

Maybe MSI was '' stealing '' from Dell, but within tolerances. its not common to say that a Dell RTX 30 serie is pretty much the same as a MSI. When you ventilate this here, you need to bring more details.

Because Dell creates his own top of the build RTX 30 Series and i was compare them with other brands...the voltage starts with 1,1 at start up, no other brand deal with that fastest start on earth a RTX 3080.
