Aurora R10, CPU upgrade, Ryzen 7 to Ryzen 9
Hi,
I recently bought the Aurora R10 Ryzen edition. Its decent but i want it to be better, The CPU is currently Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor. After looking at the device manual and seeing that i could upgrade it to the Ryzen 9 3950X Processor, I went an ordered it. However i have not seen a help guide or a step by step video of how to do this. Is it easy? I Have never done this before. Also will I need to get anything else to install it?
All help would be truly appreciated.

hi,
Yeah i did see that video actually, but on the aurora it has an Alienware looking liquid cooler (I could only imagine its that as it looks too small to be a fan. Do i still just stick the AMD fan i get with processor or do i put the alienware one back on?

Yeah its prolly the water block. Do not use the fan that came with it. Use the same water cooler block. Simply clean and re apply some new thermal compound.

The wraith prism in the 3950x will not fit in the aurora, it's too big. You need the liquid cooler to put this in an aurora. Also, double vrm heatsinks:

DANG!!! Now I see this! I recently purchased an AMD Wraith Prism for the 3700X Processor in my R10. First thing I realized is that the bracket isn't there. Then I figured out that it was too large to fit inside the R10. Changing my front fan seem to have lowered the temps. When the SUMMER gets here, we will see

Were you able to upgrade your CPU?
I am doing the same thing but unsuccessful so far. Tower doesn't boot to BIOS, screen and peripherals don't go on. A series of alienware flashes on the tower (two then one, amber in color). Using the latest BIOS version 2.5.0.

@Nyles Nakama Will only support Ryzen 3000. If you put in a Ryzen 5000 it will not boot.
