Aurora R10, about the noise issue?

Question

I ordered an R10 the other day and after doing some more research on it, is it really that loud? I've apparently ordered the version with liquid cooling so I don't know if that makes much of a diff?

It's not any louder than a corsair case, or a few other solutions I have.

It only becomes loud if it gets really hot inside the case.

Since you have liquid cooling (good choice btw), it should not be louder than any other solution under regular use.

You can also adjust the fan speeds/curves with the supplied Alienware control center, or you can select from several pre configured thermal profiles.

I think sometime when they test every thing in factory they sometimes forget to put the AWCC profiles to balance mode which is a lot quieter. When gaming your gonna want to run it at thermal performance so the machine can get the fans going to help cool everything down. That setting will be in your Alienware Command Center under the Thermal tab to the left. Race cars are loud too !

The reason it is loud is because the stock exhaust fan is a server fan that pushes 120cfm and spins to like 4k rpm doing so. It's not a junk fan, but it can be very loud.

Mine isn't any louder than my old computer, but there is a clicking noise that has persisted getting louder and louder.  Dell sent a service rep to replace one of the fans which didn't fix the issue.  I've sent the whole PC back to a repair center where they 'reseated' the cables, and the noise came right back the first time the system went under load player a game.  Now it's back to being as loud as it was before I sent the PC back to Dell.  It sounds like a wire is nicking a fan or a fan casing is out of balance.  Ridiculous for a computer this expensive to have issues like that.

it becomes extremely loud, i got a r10 with a 5900x and without undervolting, the fan noise level is unbearable. I visited my brother in law recently whos nephew got an r10 with a 5800X and eventhough he is 13 years old he complained about the loudness of his aurora 10 and asked me how to reduce the noise level... i checked his AWCC (he is still using it and i didnt have the time to talk him through removing it and replacing it with better software) and the profile was on silent...

idk why Vanadiel falsely claims that aurora r1X cases are not any louder that other cases... its commonly known that r1X are a design failure even Dell indirectly admitted...

The Aurora R10 noise factor is easily rectified with 4 Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM case fans.
