Aurora R10, how to upgrade the fans?
Hello Everyone,
I purchased a R10 Ryzen with the following specs:
AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X (6-Core, 35MB Total Cache, Max Boost Clock of 4.6GHz)
Windows 10 Home English
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6
16GB Dual Channel DDR4 XMP at 3200MHz
1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD
Lunar Light chassis with Low-Profile Smart Cooling CPU Heatsink and 550W Power Supply
I read that the fans are very loud on this computer. I was looking for ways to upgrade the stock fans and add a fan where the HDD usually is. Having gotten an SSD, I am assuming it is mounted below and I can easily install two fans in the front of the computer??
This is the first gaming PC I bought and I have never really opened a computer to make MODS etc. I was wondering if anyone had a step by step guide on how to install/replace fans to make the computer quieter.
Thank you.

Please see here: R10 fans
But I honestly would see if I could return it or exchange it for an R10 with liquid cooling. The low profile cooler is not a great cooling solution, and because you have the low profile cooler your configuration will not come with VRM heat sinks.
Both of these cause issues with high CPU temperatures, possible CPU throttling and loss of performance due to heat. The processor will lower it clock speeds as it becomes hotter, therefore lowering it's overall performance.
I should also add these systems are notorious for being picky about what fans you can use. There's only a few select fan brands and specific part # that will work. The rest will cause issues, including making your system not bootable.

For casual gaming and using it for work so do you think the cpu will overheat? If I don’t overclock it?
My goal is to keep the heat temps as close to optimal levels and I’d probably be using it at most 5-6 hours max through the day.

You could give it a try and see, but I am pretty sure it will get toasty inside the case.
I think DELL has a 30 day return window, so I would not wait to long to make a decision.
It's also difficult to install an aftermarket liquid cooler on these systems due to the fan support, and the lack of VRM's on the air cooled systems. It's possible to do, but usually it's a big headache to find the VRM heat sinks and get no boot errors when using an aftermarket cooling system.
Aftermarket air coolers do not work on these due to the limited space available, and the non standard mounting bracket used on the existing cooler.

I just called and changed to the Liquid cooling. Now waiting patiently for it to arrive.
Thank you.

Best choice you have ever made, trust me on that.
Now you will be truly enjoying that new machine once it arrives rather than getting frustrated with it.
